Unlike the PvP frostwyrms, this drake and the 10 man version has some kind of metal plate attached to its face. Pretty nifty if you ask me :)

This mount is attached to a letter written by Darion Mograine.

The text of the letter reads:

<Name>,

As the Lich King's influence wanes, some of his more powerful minions have wrested free of his grasp.

This frost wyrm drake my men captured is a prime example. She has a will of her own and then some.

One of my men lost an arm breaking her in, but she now takes to riders fairly well -- provided they themselves are skilled and strong willed.

Please accept this magnificent beast as a gift from the Knights of the Ebon Blade. It was an honor to fight along your side in this greatest of battles.

It has the same animation as shown in the Death Knight's chain quests (An End to All Things...) But I think the the one in the quest does not have armor as this one does but if I'm wrong please don't get mad.

I have made a image which i have submitted so will have to wait for approval but it shows both drakes side by side.

Although both 10 and 25man Drakes look the same, there is a noticeable difference in color between the 2. The 10 man drake has a rusty look to its Body, feet,bottom jaw and also its tail; where as the 25 man drake has a dusty blue coloring to it.

Both beautiful drakes and nice to be able to get them without having to compete in the arena for them.

Simply awesome post and so well stated. F'ing DKs (dumb kids) have had everything virtually handed to them and it's ridiculous. What you're special because you can choose a DK at the character create screen? I don't think so...

Those of us that have this mount *earned* it via skill. Not by being one of blizzard's retarded fotm children.

WTF is you guys problem with DKs? do you expect them to start from lvl 58 with nothing like a lvl 1? plus they are the worst class in the game ANYONE can defeat them easily in a duel at lvl 80 . so just leave them alone. why don't you guys start talking about how F'in over powered palys are?

This is all irrelevant. The topic at hand is the Frostbrood Vanquisher, not how DK's have been hosed. If you feel the DK model is ugly then you should look up the topic on that, and post there. I agree it's ugly, but so are Blood Elf Chocobos. This mount, however, is hot like Katy Perry.

Oh wait, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

man i want this mount more than anything else on WOW(even more than shadowmourne )but i will never be able to get it because i think they will remove this mount from game when cata comes and i won't be able to play wow till next summer. i wnna cry. :((

Probably not, which is quite sad. Now DeAtHkNiGt96xD is going to ride these sweet mounts when they should be earned by skilled people.

But I guess they should stay for some logical reason which I fail to see.

I noticed on my realm that the Bloodbathed Vanquisher is 310% and the Icebound Vanquisher is 280%. Can anyone else confirm this? Could riding skill affect it now?

That's a really obvious photoshop. :/ You can see, near the head, where the floor from the one on left is also present with the one on the right.

i think this mount is no longer obtainable. if you don't have the achievement of glory of icecrown raider 25 player, when you go to your profile in world of warcraft website and look up this achievement in there, it no longer says reward:Reins of the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher

every mount in the game will have the speed that you learned. so if you learned %280, you mount will fly in %280. if you learn %310 then your mount will fly %310. i know it because the nether drakes were all %280 but now i see a lot of people with nether drakes that goes %310.

This mount appears to be bugged. I can't get it to rain frozen spheres of death on everything as far as the eye can see with it. Please fix this.

Trying to get this nowdays through pugs is absolute hell. People advertise meta runs then don't bother with certain achievements, 1 person screws it up, most people advertise full heroic/no achievs, etc.

It's literally taken me months and finally I just need to defeat Queen while being a vampire. and when I do, my DK is using this damn mount forever

As of patch 5.0.4, with the introduction of the mount and pet journal, the mount is no longer mailed to you. It will appear in your mount journal when you complete the achievement.

As of Patch 5.0.4 you no longer recieve the letter or Reins of the Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher - however the mount is directly added to your mount collection.

After completing the achievement i didnt get any mail but the mount was already in my mounts&pets tab.

After two Saturdays in a row raiding my guild and I have achieved this meta on most of us and let me say this is what a real Death Knight flying mount should look like instead of the flying chicken. I bought said chicken long ago cause I as a DK wanted their mounts but upon seeing how cool this one is now am glad I got this. To those still going after it best of luck and I know you shall achieve it.

Wanted to put this up here, for those of you who are freshly getting yours after Wrath of the Lich King, as it no longer sends you this mail... not exactly sure when they changed that, but here is a picture of the mail itself, if you hand the mail to someone else it says their name instead of yours, so you can trade with someone who might be interested in no longer existing legacy stuffs? So just picture your name there instead, and that is what you were supposed to get! :)
