though, despite the tooltip, maybe, just maybe, this item would proc on a 2 hand weapon. meaning you switch out 2 one hand weapons to get the motes up; then, you equip a 2 hand weapon and KERBOOM!

This reminds me of the old Hand of Justice trinket. It's subject to a lot of testing, but if the proc is % based this will most likely be the BiS trinket for rogues and Enhance. If it is PPM, it will very likely be BiS for all melee (minus feral druids) especially on a warrior in an AoE fight.

If it doesn't get nerfed, this will probably still be a BiS trinket into early Cataclysm raids.

The 'Proc' rate on the item "Tiny Abomination in a Jar" is well below 50% this is not an ilvl 277 worthy item, hopefully blizzard will increase the 'Proc' rate on this item to at least 50% if not, sure its a good trinket. But is it really worth it when you can get better with a lower ilvl?

Why specifically ferals? Attacking every 0.80 seconds balances out the proc rate the faster you hit the better generally.

I'm interested to know asap if this procs with my 2.4 weapon speed staff or a single white hit from kitty. that would change the value of it a lot, especially if AP buffs the proc.
Cat swings are about 1100 hit, 2500 crit.
Weapon swing with the +ap from cat form would be around 3850 (1925 is the 50% amount) with lupine longstaff and 13000 raid buffed ap, which isn't far off i think im around 12200 full buffs. The damage range of this trinket varies a lot depending on what the extra hit is based off of.

Real difference is what this trinket procs, weapon or paw, and affected by ap or not?
paw, not affected by ap makes it completely useless (lvl 60 damage lol)
paw affected by ap makes it better but not as good as weapon affected by ap

even with 50-100%chance of proc its nothing,a liiiittle boost to rogue(pve) or war(pve) dps. DW Dk wear slow one-hands, so for them this equip s*cks....This thing doesnt worth ICC, even more not as heroic,epic fail if it drops to first guys who kill him xDD

Dude, how exactly would 50% of a 2h weapon be any good? That's like... 1,5k damage? Big wow, people will be running when they see this damage. Right? No.

EDIT: Was replying to some guy saying that you could use a fast weapon, get stacks up, switch to a slow one and "wtfpwn" in arena.

Yeah, like 1k dmg will wtfpwn anything.

I seriously dont even think this trinklet is that good
If you scale it down for a dual weilding rogue for examble -
Main hand 50% weapon damage will do like 500 damage
and Offhand Would be pathetic
And the proc rate isnt even 100% its chance on hit
^&*! hole trinklet - they should up the passive hit bonus to compensate

Would this not be superior for a cat seeing as it's a chance per hit rather than ppm and cats have the fastest attack speed in the game not to mention wielding a 2 hander that would have a damage range of 800~1,300? (about 1.5 times that of a rogue's MH and 2.5 times their OH)

Considering cats have a 1 sec melee swing time, with say 10% passive haste and Windfury Totem/Icy Talons that's a 0.72 swing time and cats have a 1 sec GCD meaning they can get in 1 melee special every second.

With a 45% chance per hit it'd take an average of 15.5 (16) hits to discharge, it'll take the cat a mere ~7 seconds to cause a discharge and using a single weapon with a damage range of 800~1300 that's 400~650 damage every ~7 seconds or 57~93 dps.

I still find it lackluster in comparison to trinkets that actually boost your stats thus effecting all your damage but for the sake of this trinket would a cat not best utilize it?

This trinket can be proc'd by poisons and the extra attacks granted by the trinket can also proc poisons. The net result is that this trinket is incredibly well suited for mutilate rogues and is comparable to DST pre-nerf. The trinket is also BiS for combat rogues, however, it is not nearly as good for them as it is for their mutilate counterparts.

Based on the extra attack proc'ing poisons, I would assume that this trinket can also proc other on-hit effects.

This is one of the more interesting Heroic variations of an item. Same flat stats as the normal version, and even the same effect. The only difference is the frequency of the effect (requiring seven Motes of Anger instead of eight).

For anyone wondering why certain classes want this more:
It is not the 50% weapon swing's damage that people are after, but the ability of that extra swing to proc things such as poisons, and seals.

This reminds me of lovecraftian Shoggots, especially the ritual to make them. Not gonna make extensive explanations, but you need a jar (but I really doubt it works :D). Anyways, not only this one item is taken (imho) from HPL and the Cthulhu Mythos. Yogg-Saron - Yog-Sothoth, for example?

This is a fantastic trinket for Retribution Paladins and Rogues. Enhancement Shamans also gain some beneficial effects from it but overall it's not all that great for them.

The Motes of Anger can be stacked with Melee Attacks also Such as Crusader Strike, Divine Storm, Sinister Strike and Eviscerate, meaning that this trinket procs alot of the time.
It also scales with your crit % (Yes, it has the ability to crit.)

And since the 30% buff has come out in ICC because your weapons are dealing more damage than they were before that also means that this trinket actually hits fairly hard.

The name of the damaging ability is Manifest Anger.
One of my World of logs shows that it was hitting for 2k and critting for 4.2k with me totalling 2.5~3% of my overall damage.

This is probably not working at the moment (patch 5.1). I had been doing my usual rotation (blood DK) for good several minutes on a training dummy with this thing equipped--and I made sure that it was--and received no procs off the trinket at all.
