It’s about 5 ~ 6 yards.

Using the trinket triggers cooldown on other use trinkets.

Edit: It got changed in 2.4.2 to only benefit the Caster.

i hate to say this, but unless the following is in the tooltip: "While standing in this circle, only the caster gains up to 320 spell damage and healing." or anything similar, this does not exclude others.

just because it does not specify if its a selfbuff or just a circle on the ground for everyone to stand in and be buffed, does not mean the tooltip is wrong.

another thing, as many a priest will tell you, they are often looking for that juicy OO5SR break to regen some mana, what better trinket to have on you than the mana regen sliver? not specific to priests i know that, but even at 3 or 4 seconds and in the 5 second rule, using that trinket will give you 750 mana or even 1000..

it might shine most on priests, if they time it right, possibly with the shadowfiend, they can get all their mana back in about 8 seconds, isnt that just lovely?

Repost all you want, you're still wrong. "The caster" refers to a single person, specifically, the one activating the trinket.

Work on your reading comprehension.

No, this would be incorrect. You are not 'casting' the trinket, you are using it. Anyone standing in the circle 'casting' would be 'the caster'. Otherwise the item description would read 'While standing in this circle YOU gain up to 320 spell damage and healing'.

"8 People could buff a raid with a constant 320 dmg/healing."

This WOULD be possible but all the raids from Gruul and above have exact positioning tactics, can't put all raid hugging each other for the buff! For example all the bosses have AoE spells made to keep players spread out. If you manage to put in practice your theory on a hight end boss and 1/25 of your raid to be alive after 30 sec, pls make me know. ^^

As of 2.4.2, the circle now affects the caster only.

In Patch 2.4.2 the functionality of this trinket was changed to match the tooltip use description.
(previously all players in the circle casted by the trinket user gained a buff without actually gaining the spelldamage.)

Only the person using the trinket will be gaining the 320 spelldamage buff while being in the casted circle. The mechanic is therefor a clear handicap instead of a group utility, I assume the trinket is over budget stat wise to make up for this.

If it affected all people in the circle, it would be overpowered to the nth degree. It effectively would give the caster a Bloodlust with a shorter duration on a 2 min cooldown that effects everybody in the circle instead of everybody in the party (and on some fights it's easy enough to coordinate stacking to bring the number of people benefiting higher than 5, the limit for Bloodlust).

In short, if this benefitted everybody in the circle, it would be overpowered by far.

Cooldown has been lowered in the last patch - it's 90 seconds now, not 120 as it used to be.

Im not very impressed by this trinket. 90 sec CD is great and if your able to use it after every CD I would love it but as most healers in SW will tell you, many of the fights are mobile. You just cant count on being able to stay within that circle on every use.

I don't listen to what healers tell me, in every Sunwell fight i'm able
to stand still for 15 seconds, best trinket ingame for DPScasters.

Is the target circle there just to limit it's use in PvP? You rarely stand on a spot there :-)

(Just an idea, why would they implement something similar otherwise?)

Maybe... but imagine that you have 6 ppl with this trinket and all casters standing on each other to get the buff with 6 ppl you cant keep this up whole time and thats a passive 320 spell dmg and healing and thats just a bit too strong for one trinket

The use gives more healing than Essence of the Martyr for example

Which makes this a very viable healing trinket aswell

(could make you less liked by your fellow caster guildmates)

So what your saying is that this trinket is like any other spell damage trinket only it has slightly more spell damage than others and you have to stand in a confined area when its used? That sounds pretty lame judging by the fact that high level riad encounters require immense mobility and its only a marginal upgrade beyond BT trinkets.

I think it isn't a good trinket, because you need to stay in the place for the duration of buff while the other trinkets (most of them) give you a buff (of course, lower than those 320 spd) which you can run with.

If you got it, use it as PvE trinket.

After having looked a lot of the other new tier 6/6.5 content recently released, I'm surprised Blizzard didn't continue with the "stick a red gem socket in it" attitude.

This is currently the best dps increase item available for spell hit capped mages, and most cast dps classes, and only if you're missing spell hit does it become the 2nd best dps increase to The Skull of Gul'dan.

Regrard this trinket generally as an upgrade from either Hex Shrunken Head, Skull of Gul'dan or Darkmoon Card: Crusade trinket.

EDIT: Furthermore, this trinket SHOULD also increase spell damage output for Water Elementals, since they benefit from player buffs.

The problem now is, the trinket is barely better than Hex Shrunken Head, and certainly not equal to Skull of Gul'dan. Coming from Sunwell I would expect more.

This depends entirely on your spell hit, whether it is maxed or not without the Skull.

Maxdps.com states that with spell hit capped, this trinket does indeed give more dps.

However, it is correct to raise a concern about how spellhaste eats at your mana much more vigorously. Time to group with shadow priests. :D

Wowhead and wotlk.wowhead tooltip of this trinket is wrong, it has 1 min 30 sec cooldown at live and beta now.

Most people seem to overlook why this trinket really is that good.
Here's my PoV regarding it:

At a 16,66%* uptime you can average out about 53 spell damage, if managing to stay positioned during the full 15 seconds and use it as soon as It's off cooldown.

Combined with the passive 54 spell haste you simply can't argue against the fact that it is the best caster trinket ingame.

It's not gimmicky one bit, it's just made of win.

(*avg. calculation: duration/cooldown = uptime in percent, mutliplied by use effect equals: 15/90*320=53,333...)

The haste on this trinket is amazing for restoration shamans. I had been using Redeemer's Alchemist Stone and Battlemaster's Alacrity. The 'use' on the Battlemaster's having limited use at best.
It's really opened up a lot more options for my gear, especially since I will never get a Memento Of Tyrande. I was able to regem a few peices and gain over 10 extra mp5.

Why does it say 1 min cooldown on wowhead and on thottbot it says 1.50 minute cooldown? What is the real cooldown?

Well mages can't roll need on it guess that means where not casters but warriors can.

It dropped recently and my priest was unable to roll need on it - only greed - which makes no sense. Did it used to be a tank trinket? Tanks can roll need but casters cannot? Looks like an error on Blizzard's part. It ended up disenchanted by someone else. :(
